DescriptionHanging made up from a number of bands of embroidery; linen ground, probably all unbleached but varying in shade, most of bands embroidered with purplish-red silk, with outer border on all four sides embroidred with reddish-orange silk; all designs based on carnation with exception of border bands which are smaller in scale and show variety of stylized floral motives; soiled; brass rings sewn along upper edge, a number of breaks in the seams, several cracks in the embroidery.
