DescriptionTwo fragments from a piece, full width. Copperplate engraving, printed in brown on cotton cloth. When assembled, two fragments show full repeat. Main scene, at center, shows two ladies talking with a girl in a park; at the right, two ladies converse with a gentleman at the foot of a flight of stone steps with balustrade. Above, at left, two ladies being rowed in a boat by a man, past gothic ruins; at right, a lady and gentleman strilling in woods. Inscribed on edge of tread of bottom step: "Drawn and Engrav'd By D. Richards (s reversed) Manch.r." Cotton darkened and brittle; many holes and tears; darning.
