DescriptionPiece of border, probably from table cover pale neutral brown linen crossed, horizontally, by a band of embroidery between two narrower bands, with one band across the end. Design: stylized plant forms, stags, unicorns, dogs and small birds worked with red silk and pale brown linen thread in satin stitch, and Holbein or double-running stitich, the background, drawn-work with loop filling. Gauze weave fring woven with pale brown, and pinkish red linen sewed across bottom. Frail, torn.
