DescriptionMachine embroidered ivory mousseline de soie over ivory satin; skirt and bodice scattered with silk-embroidered sprays of violets with foliage. Fitted bodice with pointed front and low round neck. Scalloped collar and sleeve caps edged with white silk-embroidered ribbons and bows; full puffed sleeves of plain mousseline de soie. Lavender ribbon at waist; lavender ribbon bows at sleeves and shoulders. Plain skirt gathered all around. Label printed on tape inside bodice: "Mme. Lamy/3 Rue Scribe (?) / Paris." Condition fair. Made for Miss Catherine Burke of Lowell.
