Description"This and No. 15 {Ds; No.21 here} were done on the same day upon the same spot - one looking up and the other looking down the river. The first state of which perhaps a dozen were taken, is the best but there are a few impressions of the second state in brown ink on verger by Delâtre which perhaps best represents the intention of the plate."
Published in Études à l'eau-forte (No. XII). Much of the bur removed or wearing and there are varying amounts of work in the shadow on stern of right punt; burnishing marks in this area are noticeable on several impressions.
Schneiderman (1983), p. 73.
