Period Rooms of the Americas
The Art of the Americas Wing features eight period rooms spanning the late 17th to the mid-19th century, as well as several large-scale architectural elements. Of particular note are the Oak Hill Rooms, commissioned by Elizabeth Derby West around 1800 for her family home in what is now Danvers, Massachusetts. These three rooms—parlor, dining room, and bedroom—are the most complete neoclassical interiors in an American museum, with original furnishings by Samuel McIntire, John and Thomas Seymour, and the painter Michele Felice Cornè.
