European Decorative Arts and Sculpture Highlights

The MFA's collection of European decorative arts and sculpture include approximately 22,000 works of art from the seventh century until the present day. Among the strengths of the holdings are English silver and porcelain, eighteenth-century French decorative arts, medieval sculpture and works of art, and Italian Renaissance sculpture. In recent years, the focus has been on making strategic purchases in all fields to fill gaps in the collection, and especially in the area of nineteenth-century decorative arts and sculpture.
