The domed cover fits over the rim of the cup, resting on two applied strips at the top of the scroll-shaped handles.  The spool-shaped finial has a broad flat top engraved with a crest in mantling. 

Construction:
The body of the vessel is raised from a single sheet; the cast handles are applied.  The cover is raised.
