The earrings, along with a matching necklace, were given by Samuel Colt to his bride (Elizabeth Hart Jarvis) as a wedding present. Each consists of a  floriform blue enamel rosette set with a central, mine-cut diamond (1.54 and 1.35 carats) with surrounding smaller diamonds.
