Later edition of treatise first published in 1557 (MFA owns three copies); this has been enlarged with further text by Gevaerts. The engraved title is by Cornelis Galle I after Rubens. The chiaroscuro woodcuts were cut after the original illustrations, and there are several further ones. Most scholars attribute them to the senior Jegher, but Hollstein catalogues them under Jan Christoffel Jegher (Christoffel's son, 1618-1667).
