Gold-skinned Shakyamuni sits cross-legged on a lotus on a throne. His right hand is in the teaching gesture, his left is in dhyana mudra. He is surrounded on all sides by vignettes, apparently scenes from his life or past lives, including preaching scenes, a hell scene, and someone being pushed from a roof, all within a verdant landscape.

Possibly part of set with 26.242, 26.243, 26.244 and 29.659.</schema:description><schema:artForm>Paintings</schema:artForm><schema:width>158.0000000000 Centimeter</schema:width><schema:width>77.0000000000 Centimeter</schema:width><schema:url>http://collections.mfa.org/objects/21590/rdf</schema:url></schema:VisualArtwork></rdf:RDF>
