Many have become icons of American art, among them John Singleton Copley's portrait of Paul Revere (1768), Mary Cassatt's <i>In the Loge</i> (1878), Winslow Homer's <i>The Fog Warning</i> (1885), John Singer Sargent's <i>The Daughters of Edward Darley Boit</i> (1882), and Frida Kahlo's <i>Dos Mujeres</i> (1928).
